What we do

The NAYDC empowers young people to take on the challenge of acceptance by creating and maintaining Youth Diversity Councils at high schools throughout the country. Youth Diversity Councils hold school events and activities, developed and proven-to-work by the NAYDC, that broaden perspectives on people of different races, ethnicities, religions, sexualities, disabilities, interests, and backgrounds.
The Youth Diversity Council (YDC) program is effective because it is easy. The NAYDC believes that young people must take responsibility for diversity issues, and so it has developed programs that can be easily implemented, coordinated, and run by ordinary (but devoted) high school students. Students involved in YDC's gain communication, coordination, and leadership skills, as well as accolades for their college applications and/or work resumes.
